We especially thank the voting residents of all parties
in the Town of Ulster who voted in 13 of the 15 races we campaigned for in 2007!
|
In addition to the candidates listed above, the 3 propositions that passed in our favor were:
- 2 year term for Supervisor - fosters greater accountability on the Town Board
- 4 year term for Clerk - reduces the campaign burden to one half for this
non-policy setting position
- 4 year term for Superintendent of Highways - (same as Clerk)

Congratulations to our Vice Chairman Mario Catalano for winning election
as Chairman of the Ulster County Republican Committee on Sep. 19, 2007!
Our treasurer, James Quigley III was also elected as Treasurer of the County Committee.
William West of Woodstock continues as 1st Vice Chair.,
Jane Rascoe of Shawangunk was elected 2nd Vice Chair.,
Thomas F. Turco of Saugerties, Ulster County's Republican Commissioner of Elections,
was elected 3rd Vice Chair., and
Patricia Jacobsen of Gardiner was elected Secretary.
After 30 years of honorable service as County Chairman,
Peter J. Savago was appointed Chairman Emeritus.
The Town of Ulster Republican Committee was committed to an open caucus
and even though the Incumbent Democrat Supervisor was allowed to be nominated
and spent likely thousands of dollars in radio and print advertising,
registered Republicans of the Town chose a true Conservative/Republican
as the Republican Party candidate for Town Supervisor.
Sincere thanks to all Republicans that attended the
Town of Ulster Republican Party Caucus
on a rainy evening to select the Republican Candidates for the November,
2007 election,
and to all the Committee Members and others helping to get out the vote!
We especially thank all those that helped to conduct a very orderly caucus, and
M. Clifford Miller Middle School officers and staff for the use of their facilities.
NYS Senator John J. Bonacic - 42nd Senate District
Senator Bonacic's agenda:
• Fight to end school property taxes
• Work to make sure our hospitals are state-of-the-art
• Help our children prepare for the jobs of the 21st century to be created in New York
• Fight for change and reform in the way our government is run.

Worth repeating from the GOP.com newsfeed & The Washington Times:
How Democrats `Support The Troops`:
|
|
"The failure to pass this bill means there will be no funding for
modernization of soldiers' equipment, including Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected
trucks for soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan; a 3.5 percent raise for
American men and women in the military; and funding to assist wounded
veterans."

Did you know?
2008 marks the first presidential election since 1928 without an
incumbent president or vice president seeking the nomination. Both parties
have numerous candidates in the race, and the Republican Party has a field
of proven leaders.
